After rededicating her life to the Lord following the death of her mother, Vickie who grew up singing in church, became increasingly involved in singing the good news of the Gospel. Singing in church soon led to a singing ministry at local rest homes. Singing in rest homes brought more than the open warmth and straightforward honesty of the elderly patrons. Soon Vickie was receiving requests to sing elsewhere by people who had heard her while visiting elderly relatives.

As the requests for her to sing at different places increased, so did the requests for tapes and CDs. Her first project, "The Rose Beneath The Thorns" was a response to those requests. Growing up with a varied background, her musical experience is varied and embraces many styles. "The Rose Beneath The Thorns" reflects several styles all promoting a Christ centered message. She has recently finished her second project.

Although her project has received great initial reception, material for her second project has been chosen in response to her Southern Gospel fans requests for tapes and CDs of material she has performed live. Vickie readily acknowledges God's hand, to whom she gives all the credit for allowing her to sing for Him in churches, rest homes, and concert halls or wherever she can lift up his Holy name with song. Her view of her ministry is best described in her own words:

"The first goal of any ministry is to bring the unsaved to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. The second goal of any ministry is to up lift our brothers and sisters in Christ."
